To complement the meal, McIlroy has selected four wines, including the 1990 Château Lafite Rothschild, which he enjoyed last year, and a 1989 Château d’Yquem, from the year of his birth. This year's dinner is a testament to the tradition's evolution, starting with Hogan's proposal in 1952 and becoming more exotic under Bernhard Langer's influence in 1985.
