New Music North is inviting composers of any age, gender, and nationality to submit scores of contemporary concert music for performance consideration in the fourth annual New Music North Festival to be held in Thunder Bay, Ontario in early June 2004. The programming committee will consider chamber music for:

Flute (doubling on Alto Flute or Piccolo)
Mezzo Soprano
Piano

Although scores for any combination of these instruments will be accepted, preference will be given to compositions featuring all the players as a trio.

Eligible Composers:
Any age, gender, nationality.
Number of Submissions:
Maximum two (2)
Date(s) of Composition(s):
Preference will be given to more recent works.
Duration:
Up to 15 minutes
Submission Deadlines for both score and parts:
December 1, 2003 (postmarked)
Submission Fee:
None
Decision/Notification Date:
March 1, 2004
Terms:
Composers whose works are selected for performance will be expected to become members of New Music North by March 30.

Contact information (postal address, email address, phone number, URL if applicable) must be provided with submissions. Accompanying recordings of the submitted works are desirable but not required. Composers must submit both scores and parts by the posted deadline. Submitted material will not be returned but will be placed in the New Music North library for future performance considerations. The New Music North library is a resource of contemporary music and serves both professional and student musicians in the region.
